Data are numerical information, such as values or measurements, organized for analysis or used for decision-making. Among many applications, data are used to:
•improve processes and patient care;
•direct safety initiatives and injury prevention activities; and
•drive legislative initiatives.
Data drive improvement in trauma care, so quality data are critical. This course is designed to improve the skill sets of the data entry specialist specific to data input, data abstraction and statistical reporting, which are used to improve the state’s trauma and emergency care system.
